QUINTA DO CRASTO VINTAGE 2001
Producer notes 2001
The grapes, from Vinhas Velhas, were transported in food plastic boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the entrance to the cellar. After a gentle crushing without destemming, they were sent to a traditional stone press where they were stepped on by men at regular intervals. Subsequently, wine spirit was added, thus stopping fermentation.
Very dark color, almost opaque. Intense aroma of very ripe fruit: plum, blackberry ... In the mouth it has an excellent balance and good structure, given by grapes from old vines. The result is a complex and persistent wine which makes it possible to foresee a remarkable longevity.
