QUINTA DO CRASTO VINTAGE 2010
Producer notes 2010
Vinhas Velhas (old vineyards where the planting of varieties was random and diversified, being possible to find a high number of different varieties - about 30).
The grapes, from Vinhas Velhas, were transported in food plastic boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the entrance of the cellar. After a gentle crush without destemming, they were sent to a traditional stone press where they were stepped on by men at regular intervals. Subsequently, wine spirit was added, thus stopping fermentation.
Nose: Vibrant notes of Douro fruits; wild blackberries, figs and blueberries, in perfect harmony with fresh notes of rockrose. Excellent complexity.
Palate: Fresh and elegant start, evolving in great harmony to a wine with a very compact structure. Excellent volume, very present tannins, but smooth texture. It ends with an aromatic burst of wild berries. The result is a complex, persistent and fresh wine, which predicts remarkable longevity.
