Carm - Rosé Wine
Producer Notes 2015 (automatic translation)
They were vinified in our winery Quinta das Marvalhas in Almendra, in the heart of the Douro Superior. We selected grapes from Touriga Nacional, in vineyards plots exposed to North and East to have grapes with greater freshness.
The year 2015 was a dry year, with a cold winter, warm spring and mild summer, had some occasional peaks of high temperatures. These conditions allowed to obtain grapes with great aromatic expression and balanced alcohol levels, resulting in wines of optimal quality.
We are in the presence of an exceptional harvest in the Douro Superior.
In our cellar, with the latest technology and complete control of temperature, we eliminated clusters that were not in perfect condition, the grapes were fermented with total destemming, gentle crushing, followed by a clarifying period for about 48 hours due to the ripeness. The alcoholic fermentation took place at temperatures between 12º and 16ºC for a long period, with the wines aged in stainless steel on fine lees until bottling in January 2016.
This Rosé is endowed with a complex aroma that gives it a truly Gourmet character and allows it to combine with the whole Mediterranean cuisine.
It is fresh, with red fruit and elegant floral notes of its own caste. The taste is long, fresh and rich, with balanced acidity.
Serve cool, between 8º and 12ºC.
