Morgadio da Torre is a superior quality Alvarinho, an exceptional white Vinho Verde which reflects the full character and potential of Alvarinho, one of Portugal´s most characteristic varieties, which is gaining increasing appreciation worldwide.
Morgadio da Torre Alvarinho White has a yellow citrus hue and a marked varietal aroma, typical of the Alvarinho variety, with a prevalence of fruit, namely fresh apple, ripe melon and tropical
fruit, together with floral notes. In the mouth, the volume and balance of all components stand out, as well a lively and refreshing acidity, all giving rise to an intense wine with an elegant, long and finely complex finish.
Morgadio da Torre Alvarinho was made at the Monção Cooperative under careful monitoring by the Sogrape Vinhos´ oenology team, using the strictest quality control techniques, such as protecting the must and wine from oxidation throughout the whole process, using very soft pneumatic presses for separating the must from the skins, racking and fermentation under controlled temperatures.
After fermentation, Morgadio da Torre Alvarinho was aged for around 6 months in stainless steel vats at low temperatures, with natural stabilisation taking place. This was followed by filtration and bottling in Sogrape Vinhos´ premises in Avintes.
Serve chilled. Morgadio da Torre Alvarinho should be served between 10ºC-12ºC.
Morgadio da Torre Alvarinho is an excellent accompaniment to fish dishes, salads, white meats and cheeses, or simply as an aperitif.
