Esteva is an attractive and elegant Douro red wine that combines character and versatility in a very accessible choice, ideal for everyday drinking. Esteva is part of the wine portfolio of the celebrated Casa Ferreirinha, the brand with the greatest tradition in Douro quality wines and one of its main world-wide standard-bearers.
Casa Ferreirinha Esteva Red has a strong red ruby hue and a finely intense and harmonious bouquet, with a prevalence of red fruit, such as strawberry and raspberry, as well as of balmy components and slight touches of spices, especially pepper and clove. In the mouth it starts off softly and has a fine structure, with well-integrated tannins, with red fruits again in evidence. Acidity is finely wrapped and it has an elegant and harmonious finish.
The bunches were hand-picked and vinified using advanced technology. After soft de-stemming and crushing the grapes fermented in stainless steel tanks, with pumping over and skin maceration, at a 28ºC controlled temperature. After maceration, there followed malolactic fermentation.
Esteva is ready for drinking and does not require decanting, except if it is kept for some years. Serve between 14ºC-16ºC.
Casa Ferreirinha Esteva is a very versatile wine, ideal with all types of poultry, sundry meats, smoked pork, cheese, some fish such as cod and a variety of pastas and rich salads.
