The Producer
Carlos Reynolds, grandson of Gloria Reynolds, son of Julian, is the seventh generation of the Reynolds Family in Portugal who have produced quality wines in Alentejo for more than 150 years. This wine represents continuity and the family’s commitment to excellence, in this case in their range of young wines. The origin of the grape and the process of selection are the same as that used for the great wines of the winery.

The Wine

Schist ground, smooth undulations with climatic influences of the Mountains of S. Mamede.

The grapes are harvested manually, using small boxes, in the vineyards of Herdade da Figueira de Cima, which surround the winery an after which they are cleaned. The grapes are then fermented in barrels of French oak from Seguin Moreau at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for a further period of 18 months, again a French oak barrels from Seguin Moreau. During this time the wine is imbued with the distinct characteristics of the land from which the grape was harvested, and aged for at least a further three months before being sold.
